'The most important thing for a mobile learning solution is the ease of use. Ease of creation because as instructors, we have a lot of other things to do besides creating capsules. And ease of use for the user because if the application is complicated it will be quickly forgotten or uninstalled."

Fabien Colléon
Digital Learning Manager, Würth France

The client

Würth France is part of the Würth Group, a multinational company specialized in the wholesale of fasteners and construction materials for professionals, present in over 80 countries. In France, Würth has been present for 53 years and employs around 4,000 people in its different stores and more than 2,800 field sales staff. In addition to selling industrial materials, Würth France also provides services to improve the work of its customers, such as stock management.

For 30 years, Würth France has had its own training course center with about 30 instructors, who have different specialties. Until now, training courses have always been done face-to-face, with all the procedures that this entails.

For more than two years now, Würth France's objective has been to digitalize its training courses by offering accessible and effective digital training programs to the group's employees, but also to create a learning company by encouraging employees to self-train

The challenge

Initially, to digitalize training courses, Würth France used e-learning with an LMS that offered mandatory training courses on subjects such as compliance or RGPD. But these long and not very engaging e-learning modules were not very successful.

By going digital, Würth France's objective was twofold:

  • The DLM wanted to have access to a training solution that would allow all employees, especially those in the field, to have access to training courses.

  •  It wanted to find a way to encourage employees to self-train.

These objectives were not achieved with the e-learning modules. Because of their length, they were not adapted to salespeople and the training they offered was not very attractive.  To meet this need, Würth France finally called on Mobile Learning, which offers:

  • Short sessions that fit into the hectic and ever-changing daily lives of salespeople in the field;
  • Playful and gamified training sessions that make employees want to return to the training course on their own in order to earn more points.

The solution

Würth France found the best Mobile Learning solution at Beedeez. In fact, Beedeez was able to offer Würth France several important levers to transform their training programs, including:

  • Short and fun content adapted to the daily life of sales representatives;
  • An intuitive and easy-to-use authoring tool that allows several people to be trained quickly on capsule creation;
  • A pleasant, ergonomic, and easy-to-use user interface;
  • A statistical tool capable of evaluating users' knowledge quickly and efficiently while measuring their progress…

Also, Würth France particularly liked the fact that Beedeez is made for customers and by customers. It is in fact constantly evolving to offer more features and options according to customers' requests.

The outcome

The application has been in use within the group since the end of 2019 and has already been successful in a number of ways.

The application has had a positive impact on the company's brand image by directly addressing the criteria of innovation and evolution that are particularly important to the group.

Overall, the application's launch has also been a success, with more than 1600 active users.

Whether it is to keep in touch during periods of teleworking or during the summer with quizzes that offer rewards, as an autonomous training tool thanks to the product's capsules or as a support during face-to-face training courses, the tool is widely used and the feedback is very positive.

Also, on the creators' side, the simplicity of the authoring tool is particularly appreciated. As for the users, the fun aspect of the application makes them want to learn by themselves and the short and varied contents allow them to learn whenever they want on the subjects of their choice.
