The client

Stephenson Formation is a training organisation that has been supporting learners through apprenticeships and ongoing training for over 40 years.

The courses offered by the training centre cover five specific industries: business, tourism, hospitality, sales, and digital for one year.

By offering complete training courses from Youth Training (NVQ level 1-2) to Master level, Stephenson training centre's mission is to help each learner develop the qualities and skills necessary for success. Thanks to its high-quality teaching, professionalism, and reputation, Stephenson training centre has a 90% success rate on exams and has enabled 73% of its students to find employment within six months of their training.

The challenge

At the beginning of each school year, Stephenson Formation's apprentices were welcomed through an onboarding course that involved several in-person meetings. The sessions served to inform students of the conduct rules within the institution, but also to clarify the specifics of their apprentice status and present basic safety information. They were therefore very important.

However, the advisers did not have enough time to address all of these concepts. As a result, the sessions were quite dense, top-down, and not very interactive.

Stephenson Formation wanted to find a way to transform this presentation in order to:

  • Create an entertaining and engaging learning experience. Learners could then grasp the concepts they acquired and become involved in their own training.
  • Make the course accessible under the ATAWAD principle so that each student could complete it whenever they wanted (in particular for late entry apprentices).
  • Enable results to be tracked to ensure that all learners have completed the course.

The solution

Beedeez was able to meet all the needs of Stephenson Formation with its Mobile Learning solution. It was the first time that a digital onboarding session was available to learners.

Beedeez met Stephenson Formation's requirements by proposing:

  • The Beedeez Training Mobile Learning solution is accessible whether on a computer, phone, or tablet, with or without an Internet connection. Learners can therefore access it anywhere and anytime.
  • Gamified, fun, and interactive content. This is perfectly adapted to the training centre's target audience and increases learner engagement;
  • An authoring tool that helps the educational team easily create, modify and update the content at any time, as well as share and promote it.
  • A collaborative back-office that lets administrators easily monitor individual learner progress and check that everyone has completed the course.

In addition, Stephenson Formation has subscribed to the Beedeez Tips functionality. This allows them to incorporate apprentices into the educational resources' production chain. With Tips, apprentices will be able to generate content for the whole community in a Social Learning context. As a result, they will become active contributors to their own training.

The impact

The first digital onboarding launched at Stephenson Formation was a success. There were over 500 views per capsule and a record of 223 connections to Beedeez Training during the week of the new school year.

The course was intended for all first-year learners. They all used the application to complete the various capsules on training centre life and safety procedures.

During the Covid-19 crisis and health restrictions, Beedeez was also used to survey learners to collect feedback. This allowed the educational team to maintain constant contact with the learners, despite the distance.
